“With all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love.”

– Ephesians 4:2

Food Pantry Support

Each month St. John’s members collect canned, boxed and paper goods for the local food pantry.

Worship Assistants

Serving God and His people during worship is an important ministry. Worship assistants read lessons, administer the Chalice, Acolyte, Usher and greet newcomers.  Ages 5-99 welcome!

Altar Guild

St. John’s Episcopal Altar Guild assists the priest  in preparing for all services — regular Sunday services, weddings, funerals, baptisms and special services like ordinations, confirmations, etc.  We prepare and clear the altar, assist at funerals, order memorial flowers, schedule parishioners flower request, purchase and care for linens and vestments, order wine, candles, etc.  (All items associated with our worship services.)

5th Sunday Dinner

Each month there is a 5th Sunday, St John’s prepares a meal for the less fortunate in our community.  Parishioners get together to setup, cook, serve and cleanup the meal

Cup of Cold Water

St. John’s is located at the beginning of the city of Dubuque parade route.  On parade days parishioners open the church for parade goers and participants.  They offer water, restrooms facilities, and free tours of the church.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

St John’s Prayer Shawl ministry is a simple, universal and enduring message of caring. Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful way of passing on love and joy. Everyone interested in knitting or crocheting a shawl are welcome to join.
