Rector’s Round Tables

There will be a Rector’s Roundtable on Wednesday, July 24 at 11am, Sunday July 28 at 9am, and Wednesday July 28 at 5:30pm. These will be opportunities to provide further input about the preaching ministry, discuss the mid-year rector’s update, and initial brainstorming for our 175th anniversary in 2020.

SAVE THE DATE:  Dinner on Main

Dinner on Main will be September 20th. Please save the date on your calendar for this fun fellowship event!  Interested in learning more, talk to Kathe Richardson or David Vanderah.

Let There Be Light Fundraising Update

We have surpassed our goal of $3,000 for lighting.  A huge thanks those who have already contributed to our project fundraiser.  Remember, our second part of the goal is to raise an additional $3,000 for railings.  So, if you haven’t contributed yet, please do so.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to raise enough funds for both of these very important enhancements to our church. Remember, your prayers are the greatest contribution.  Please pray for continued success for our project fundraiser at St. John’s.

Volunteer to read at the Parish House

Our new mission partner, St. Mark’s Youth Enrichment will be hosting their 4th grade summer program in Our Parish House June 17-August 2. They are in need of volunteer readers. They provide the books. The reading takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00-9:15 am. If you are interested in reading, contact Ron Paar from St. Mark’s at rpaar@smccdbq.org or call the St. Mark’s Youth Enrichment office at  563-582-6211.

From the Altar Guild

As the flowers in your garden start to bloom and/or you visit farmer’s market, please remember flowers for the altar. Just choose a Sunday you want to bring flowers and reserve that date on our calendar. The flower calendar is located beside the elevator on the main floor. How wonderful to have flowers on God’s altar that you picked from your garden or purchased at market!

Organist / Accompanist Wanted

Experience in liturgical worship necessary, Episcopal experience a plus. Pianists with interest/enthusiasm for organ study (which St. John’s may supplement for the right candidate) are encouraged to apply. Organ experience and competency highly desired. Stipend negotiable based on experience and ability. Collect for Sunday

Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
