Our Mission

At St. John’s we believe love transforms lives.
Disciples are those who love God and love others according to the way of Jesus.

Our Vision

With God’s help, St. John’s Episcopal Church will be a renewed family of disciples, active in our neighborhood, visible in our city, and reaching beyond Dubuque, with the transforming love of God in Jesus Christ.

Rector and Staff

The Reverend Dr. Kevin Goodrich, O.P.

Father Kevin Goodrich, O.P., is a traveling preacher, spirituality teacher and pastor. Inspired by the monastics and mystics and committed to renewal of the Church in the West, he teaches from an ecumenical perspective. Fr. Goodrich is a member of the Anglican Dominicans (Order of Preachers).

As a child, he had a dream that birthed a hunger to know God, not as a concept, but as a living reality. This hunger led him to explore and experiment with many spiritual traditions before he encountered the Christian mystics and monastics, who he credits for his Christian commitment.

As part of his commitment to the renewal of the spiritual life in the Western world, he regularly preaches and teaches in churches across North America (as well as less regularly in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand).

Father Goodrich is known for his sense of humor, engaging preaching style, and ability to relate spiritual concepts to the challenges of everyday life. Besides a good laugh, he enjoys the outdoors and the music of Dean Martin.
